Spider Systems fixed to glass fins allow for a clear view and are widely used for facades in stores and automobile agencies, as they lack any metal structures or elements that may interrupt the view of the building’s interior.
These systems practically work as a suspended glass wall system but with some differences. The load from each glass panel is transmitted from one panel to the next and supported from the spider fittings on the top.
The fins provide point support for wind loads and remain separated from the wall, and cannot be used as side support for the front glass.
We provide two types of fin point support systems: Back-to-back flange mount spider system and glass fin spider system with independent support angle.
The back-to-back flange mount spider system consists of two 2-arm spider fittings with a base that connects to the fin. These two spiders are joined at the base with a couple of screws and form a 4-arm spider assembly connected to the fin. This system is ideal for small and medium-sized facades.
The glass fin spider system with independent support angle uses 1, 2, 3, and 4 arm spider fittings and can be used in large facades thanks to its high resistance. For greater convenience, this system uses the half plates, flange support angles and extension plates from Kinetic’s Line 5400 suspended glass wall system.
